Humble Beginnings
Jamaican Café Cuisine was born from a lifetime of entrepreneurship. As a child in elementary school, the owner assisted his mother in providing for the family, learning early the value of hard work. By high school, he was running small businesses for tourists in Jamaica, developing skills in sales, service, and customer care that would later shape his vision for the café.
A Growing Passion for Food
In the off-season, the family ran food and beverage stands at annual festivals in St. Elizabeth, Jamaica, and later cooked for construction crews. These experiences laid the foundation for the café, teaching the importance of quality, consistency, and serving the community. Over time, these humble efforts evolved into a permanent establishment, where authentic Jamaican flavors became the heart of the business

Desmond Lawson, the newest member, has 30+ years of chef experience managing large-scale kitchens, from corporate cafeterias to hospitals. His passion for flavorful, nutritious dishes makes him a valued part of the Jamaican Café Cuisine team.
